Niladri or Limestone Lake is one of the most picturesque places in Sunamganj, as its name suggests. Niladri stands for something very bluish. At the foot of the Meghalaya ranges, once was a quarry of limestone. Continuous mining of the stone engendered a lake. The locals started calling it Niladri lake because of its pearl blue water. The waterfalls running down from the Meghalaya counts for most of the water in the lake. The rest of the water comes from rainfall. Rent a taxi or get on public transport from Sylhet to Sunamganj, and from there, hire another taxi to Tekerghat. You will find the lake at the center of Tekerghat. After taking some Instagram worthy photos in Niladri lake, you can start your bike ride towards your next destination.

This place is a field of cotton trees (Bombax Ceiba). The Bombax is known as Shimul in Bengali. When all the flower blooms, this place will remind you of a burning Forrest. The color of the flowers can easily be confused for flame on top of a tree from far away. February and March are the right months for you if you’re willing to walk under this burning red sky.
