Hunza is the most famous region in Pakistan known for its beautiful mountains, lakes, pastures, sceneries, and people. Travelers and explorers are in constant search of such places that are beautiful or what is called instagrammable. Here are the most famous tourist attractions places in Hunza.

Khunjerab Top is the mountain pass that connects Pakistan with China at an elevation of 4.733m (15,528ft) above the sea level. It is the highest border-crossing in the world.

The best time to visit this place is Summer because the weather is pleasant yet cold. You have to wear warm clothes because it can start snowing even in the summertime.

You can see the vast green terrains filled with flowers and herbs that are used for making tea and also used for cure.

You can also spot an ATM here, which is known as one of the highest ATM in the world. Don’t know if it’s frozen or it actually works!

Baltit Fort

Baltit fort is one of the ancient forts situated in Hunza, Pakistan. It is believed to be 700 years old and belonged to the king of Hunza. It used to be the residence of the royal families of Hunza for centuries. The fort was built on top of the village just to keep an eye on the enemy troops.

The fort now operates as a museum that hundreds of tourists visit to see the beautiful architecture of the fort.

There are many shops in the surrounding where you can buy local handicrafts, gemstones, local food, and fruits.

Do not forget to wear joggers because you have to walk a long way up to the fort.

Altit Fort

Altit Fort is an ancient fort at Altit town in the Hunza valley in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It was originally home to the hereditary rulers of the Hunza state who carried the title Mir, although they moved to the somewhat younger Baltit fort nearby three centuries later.

Altit Fort is another historic fort that is worth visiting when you are in Hunza.

It is believed that it is 900 years old. This was built as a display of power by the royals of Hunza.

Additionally, it is supposed that the tower was used to keep an eye out for threats and throwing prisoners off who were given death penalties.
